DVD Player
The player can be used for CD, MP3, DVD audio, and
as a DVD video player.
With this feature, movies/pictures will not appear on the
navigation screen, unless the vehicle is in PARK (P).
It will operate on the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)
screen while the vehicle is moving. The RSE video
screen will start play of the DVD when a DVD is inserted
into the navigation system. The DVD player can be
controlled by the buttons on the navigation system,
the Rear Seat Audio (RSA) system, and the remote
control. The DVD player can also be used for the
rear seat passengers with the radio off. The rear seat
passengers can power on the video screen and use
the remote control to navigate the disc. See “Rear Seat
Entertainment System” in the Index of your vehicle’s
owner manual for more information.
The DVD player is only compatible with DVDs of the
appropriate region code that is printed on the jacket
of most DVDs.
The DVD slot is compatible with most audio CDs, CD-R,
CD-RW, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD+R/RW single
layer media along with MP3 and WMA formats. DVD-R,
DVD-RW, and DVD+R dual layer media is not supported.
If playing any compatible DVD+R(W) the sound quality
may be reduced due to disc quality, the method of
recording, the quality of the video that has been recorded,
and the way the disc has been handled. There may be an
increase in skipping, difficulty in finding chapters, and/or
difficulty in loading and ejecting. If these problems occur,
check the bottom surface of the DVD. If the surface of the
DVD is damaged, such as cracked, broken, or scratched,
the DVD will not play properly.
If there is no apparent damage, try a known good DVD.
Notice: If you add any label to a DVD, insert
more than one DVD into the slot at a time, or attempt
to play scratched or damaged DVDs, you could
damage the DVD player. When using the DVD player,
use only DVDs in good condition without any
label, load one DVD at a time, and keep the DVD
player and the loading slot free of foreign materials,
liquids, and debris.
Do not add any label to a DVD, it could get caught in the
DVD player. If a DVD is recorded on a personal computer
and a description label is needed, try labeling the top of
the recorded DVD with a soft marker instead.
If an error appears on the display, see “DVD Messages”
later in this section.
