Trax has the power to merge with a standard 138-horsepower 1.4L ECOTEC®

turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Featuring the advanced technology of Variable Valve

Timing, Trax achieves a highway fuel consumption rating of just 5.7 L/100 km —

unsurpassed by any compact crossover in its class.

A smooth-shifting, electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission is standard

on LT and LTZ models. Feel like shifting gears? The Driver Shift Control feature allows you

to control the gear shift points. Or if you prefer the more visceral feel of shifting gears

manually, Trax LS features a slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission.

With an ultra-stiff body structure, wide stance and sport-tuned suspension, Trax

has the confident, fun-to-drive attitude you’d expect from a vehicle that was tuned

and calibrated in Europe, Asia and North America.

Front-wheel drive (FWD) with Electronic Traction Control is standard. For even more

surefooted traction, the available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system engages automatically

when accelerating from a standing start. This system automatically shifts to FWD mode

at speeds above 5 km/h (3 mph) or when the system detects there is no wheel slip,

maximizing efficiency.
