and 6.2L V8s are teamed with a Hydra-Matic® 6-speed automatic transmission with a “steep” first gear that maximizes

acceleration and a “tall” overdrive top gear for quiet, low-rpm highway cruising.

Silverado 1500 offers another important option: E85 capability. The Vortec 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines can operate

on either E85,

regular unleaded gasoline or any combination of both.
