Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ interior in Light Cashmere/Dark Cashmere colors with available features. 1 Government star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) New Car Assessment Program
(www.safercar.gov). 2 OnStar acts as a link to existing emergency service providers. Call 1-888-4ONSTAR (1-888-466-7827), see page 43 and visit onstar.com for details and system limitations. 3 Air bag inflation can cause severe injury or death to anyone too close to the bag
when it deploys. Be sure every occupant is properly restrained.
THIS HEAD OF SECURITY NEVER GOES OFF THE CLOCK.
Keeping you safe
is a full-time job.
The STABILITRAK ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL
SYSTEM
— standard on all 1500 models and select
HD models — helps improve vehicle stability, particularly
during emergency maneuvers. Here’s where Silverado
takes personal protection to another level: ONSTAR
2
with
the Safe & Sound Plan (standard on most models for the
first year) provides a level of security the competition just
can’t match, including AUTOMATIC CRASH RESPONSE.
2
In a collision, built-in vehicle sensors can automatically alert
an OnStar Advisor, who is immediately connected into your
vehicle and can request that emergency help be sent to
your exact GPS location. In addition to driver and right-front
passenger dual-stage frontal air bags,
3
1500 models have
HEAD-CURTAIN SIDE-IMPACT AIR BAGS for the front
and rear outboard seating positions. And new for 2010:
air bags mounted on the driver and right-front passenger
seats provide THORAX AND PELVIC PROTECTION
.
There’s also a Passenger Sensing System that automatically
switches the right-front passenger air bag on or off based
on the passenger’s weight and the type of pressure on
the seat. A TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR is standard on
Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD SRW (single rear wheel)
and keeps track of the tire inflation level in each of
the four road tires (excludes spare tire). Silverado’s
commitment to safety is like having a bodyguard
wherever you travel.
Your most valuable cargo
travels in the cab, not
the bed. That’s why the
standard safety cage is
designed to help preserve
occupant space in the
event of a collision. And
crush zones, located in the
front body structure, are
designed for a “progressive
crush” during a frontal
crash. This design absorbs
and channels crash energy
in a controlled manner to
help preserve occupant
space in the passenger
compartment.
